Day Six: Clare

First thing after breakfast, I packed the bike and rode back to the new Jamestown servo. They gave me some cutters to get my panniers off (I cable-tie them on for security) and I upended the bike for a full frame inspection. No cracks. And not a sound, just silent running. So I guess that ominous clicking was something to do with water. I added a pastie to my previous breakfast and headed south. Wendy and I had an important meeting first thing Monday, so I arranged with her for a pickup at Clare, about 75km south. In the event, the legs were good, the rain all stopped, and I'd have been home in good time. But we had a good drive together.

I discovered that the little deli/general store at Spalding has new owners. The dingy and depressed spaced has been opened up and is a delight. Well worth the stop.

How do you remember where these photos are?
If your camera/phone has a GPS attached, it is a simple matter to download the free Opanda IEXIF (Windows). It will not only read the GPS location in the exif data of your photo, but open Google Maps to the precise location of the photo. I find my camera occasionally takes too long to get a GPS read, so that the photo is missing that information. In that case,  if you are using a GPS device on the bike (Wahoo Elemnt Bolt in my case) that can be used to match the time stamp of a photo. It is easy to calculate how far you were into a ride at the date/time stamp of the photo, and then see where that is on your route map.
